Even before You’re Killing Me Season 1 completed airing Season 1 on Acorn TV, AMC Global Media announced that the mystery series is returning for Season 2!
Yes, the Acorn TV mystery series with loads of Hallmark DNA is returning. So are Brooke Shields, Amalia Williamson, and Tom Cavanagh.
The network announced that the “Series makes history as Acorn TV’s #1 series launch of ALL TIME in subscriber acquisition and viewership.”
Furthermore, this hit series still has new episodes dropping every Monday in June until the thrilling finale on June 22.
You’re Killing Me Starring Brooke Shields Back For Season 2
Sleuthers who have waited a long time for Brooke Shields to star in another mystery are getting another season of the new Acorn TV mystery series You’re Killing Me.
You’re Killing Me features bestselling novelist Allie (Shields), who lives in the small, New England town of Founder’s Cove. Allie forms an unlikely alliance with an aspiring writer and podcaster Andi (Williamson), who could be her daughter.
Allie reluctantly works with Andi to find the killer of a close friend. It seems that although they come from different generations, their two talents combine to be one fantastic detective duo.
Cavanagh stars as Jack, the new lead detective of the local Police Department. He and Allie have some moments, as this former city slicker tries to adjust himself to the nuances of Founder’s Cove.
Dan McDermott, Chief Content Officer for AMC Global Media and President of AMC Studios shared why this series has delighted their mystery-loving audience.
You’re Killing Me has quickly become a breakout hit for Acorn TV – a series that blends sharp storytelling and irresistible twists, with Brooke’s singular presence at the center of it all
Furthermore, he hinted at what is to come in Season 2. “We look forward to expanding the world she’s helped create, alongside the wonderful Robin Bernheim, for another season of this highly entertaining and bingeable new show, which has made history with Acorn TV’s deeply passionate and engaged audience as the platform’s #1 series launch of all time.”
Later this year, they plan to film the second season. Like the first, there will be six episodes, each about 45 minutes long.
Moreover, they are bringing back series creator Robin Bernheim. Sleuthers know her work at Hallmark and a very big mystery series for the feel-good network.
Acorn TV Mystery Series Has Hallmark DNA
Fans of Hallmark mysteries love Brooke Shields in the network’s popular Flower Shop Mysteries series. Furthermore, they also love Tom Cavanagh in Darrow & Darrow, as well as his supporting role in third mystery of the Mistletoe Murders Season 1 mysteries.
Therefore, it makes sense that so many Sleuthers are talking about You’re Killing Me. It is a lot like The Spencer Sisters, starring Lea Thompson and Stacey Faber, which is currently streaming on Hallmark+.
But, another reason that Sleuthers are flocking to Acorn TV may be subliminal. That is because all three writers for You’re Killing Me have worked with Hallmark on some very popular series.
Firstly, Robin Bernheim is the creator of this series. She has worked with Brooke Shields in the Netflix movie Mother Of The Bride. She has also been EP on such popular Netflix movies as all three Princess Switch movies, as well as producer for Star Trek Voyager.
Furthermore, Robin previously worked as the showrunner for When Calls The Heart, a series that Brooke Shields has also guest starred on.
But most importantly, Bernheim’s greatest mystery claim to fame is Mystery 101. She created the characters of Amy and Travis that are so beloved to fans. John Christian Plummer wrote the scripts based on these characters.
Robin Berneheim created this series for Brooke Shields.
Speaking of When Calls The Heart, longtime writer for this Hallmark series also wrote two episodes of You’re Killing Me Season 1.
Lastly, Phoef Sutton may be known for Cheers, but he was a showrunner for Chesapeake Shores. Most importantly, he created and wrote the beloved Darrow & Darrow starring Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Tom Cavanagh, and Wendie Malick.
Therefore, the DNA of this series is very Hallmark. They brought together two stars from two beloved mystery series and created a blockbuster Acorn TV hit.
If you have not watched You’re Killing Me, make sure to subscribe to Acorn TV. There is a cornucopia of fantastic cozy mystery series that will entertain you all summer.
