Based on the brief video, this promises to be a sassy and fun mystery series that could have a nod to another New England mystery legend. Could Brooke’s Alison Chandler be the reimagined Jessica Fletcher?

First Look Teaser For New Brooke Shields Mystery Series
Acorn TV has released the First Look Teaser for the new Brooke Shields mystery series You’re Killing Me. Starring along with Shields, who most recently guest-starred in When Calls The Heart, is Sullivan’s Crossing star Amalie Williamson, and Tom Cavanagh, who is known for The Flash, and was a big guest star in Mistletoe Murders Season 1, Death Of A Humbug.
According to The Futon Critic, this is the synopsis:
Set in a quaint New England town, the mystery follows bestselling novelist, “Allie” (Shields), who forms an unlikely alliance with an aspiring writer and podcaster, “Andi” (Williamson), to find the killer of a close friend. Cavanagh stars as “Jack,” the new lead detective of the local Police Department and former city slicker who is trying to acclimate to the quirks of small-town life.
The video features the Suddenly Susan actress as a renowned and glamorous mystery writer. However, she reveals that a murder is exactly like something from her books. Suddenly, her life as a bestselling novelist has turned dangerous. The First Look Teaser gives glimpses of Brooke Shields in her sassiest role ever!
How To Watch Mysteries From ‘You’re Killing Me’ Cast
This is not the first time Brooke Shields or Tom Cavanagh have starred in mystery series.
Firstly, Tom starred in Darrow & Darrow alongside Wendie Malick and Kimberly Williams-Paisley. This is a series about a mother and daughter lawyers, Joanna and Claire Darrow, who are trying to live together despite their different approaches. Cavanagh played DA Miles Strasberg, an attorney and love interest for Claire.
The four movies are: Darrow & Darrow, In The Key Of Murder, Body Of Evidence, and Witness To Murder.
A decade ago, Brooke Shields starred alongside Brennan Elliott and Beau Bridges in the Hallmark mystery series Flower Shop Mysteries. She played former New York lawyer, Abby Knight, who now owns a flower shop, Bridges played her father, and Elliott portrayed former PI Marco Salvatore, who now owns the neighboring bar.
The movies made were Mum’s The Word, Snipped In The Bud, and Dearly Depotted.
These fan-favorite mysteries were part of a bigger 16-movie deal with the feel-good network. However, according to Just Jared, Shields wrote in her 2025 biography, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed To Grow Old, that she “had to renegotiate.”
I’d completed only three when I realized I had to renegotiate. I’d been hired, I was told, to help change the face of the network. They wanted me to be funny and bring more comedy to their offerings, but as filming progressed on each of the Flower Shop Mysteries — the franchise I was hired to headline — all the humor had evaporate.
