Alison Sweeney wears a lot of hats on the set of her very popular Hallmark Mystery series, Hannah Swensen. She stars in the series that was originally called Murder She Baked. She is the executive producer. She has also written five of the movies including the upcoming Best Served Cold: A Hannah Swensen Mystery.

That means Ali has worked with a cornucopia of talent, including her fan-favorite costars Victor Webster, and Barbara Niven.

However there is one costar that the Days star has to go to great lengths to work with. Who is this purrticular costar?

The Great Lengths Alison Sweeney Goes To In Order To Portray Hannah Swensen

Over the years, there have been some changes on the Hallmark mystery series. The series was originally called Murder She Baked and after a lengthy hiatus, it came back with the name Hannah Swensen.

Next, the lead male was Cameron Mathison. However, when he left for GAF, they brought in a new guy, Chad, portrayed by Victor Webster. Sometimes Gabriel Hogan is in a movie as Norman the dentist. Then, there are Hannah’s sister, and often it is just one of the two sisters in a movie.

But, the constant is always Delores, portrayed by Barbara Niven, and Moishe, Hannah’s cat. Although Hannah has a mercurial relationship with her mother, but Moishe is her constant. He may not like Mike, but the fluffy kitty loves Hannah.

The irony is that although Alison Sweeney loves cats, it is a challenge for her to work with one because she is so highly allergic. She cannot be in a Hallmark movie with water running from her eyes! This is what she has to say about working with a cat and all she has to do to prepare for her one day of filming with him.

It’s hard working with the cat – any cat – because I am very allergic to cats. So, there’s that. I went to an allergist and worked on a regiment of antihistamines I could take and eye drops and stuff so I can shoot for one day with the cat and not break out. So actually, I really enjoy that one day of filming when I get to hold the cat, and pet him, and act like a cat owner. They’re such fun animals. I wish I could have one!
