Kentucky Roses Kicks Off May For Moms
Kicking off May For Moms is Kentucky Roses starring Andrew W. Walker (Three Wisest Men) and Odette Annable (Supergirl). Clare Niederpruem (The Presence Of Love) is directing. Jamie Pachino (The Secrets Of Bella Vista) wrote the script. Hallmark Media and Churchill Downs partnered for this movie.
A greenhouse worker and the son of Churchill Downs’ CEO form an unlikely pair, coming together to save the Kentucky Derby rose blanket and uncovering a generational love story along the way.
In addition to this movie, Hallmark will be offering a special line of jewelry.
The premiere of Kentucky Roses is on Saturday, May 2, at 8 p.m. Eastern, on the Hallmark Channel. This will be available to stream the next day.
Hallmark’s All’s Fair In Love & Mahjong Has Star-Studded Cast
The second movie in the May For Moms collection is All’s Fair In Love & Mahjong. This stars Fiona Gubelmann and Paul Campbell. There are some special co-stars including Melissa Peterman, Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe, and Tamera Mowrey-Housley.
Jessica Harmon is the director of this movie and the upcoming April romcom I’ll Be Seeing You.
The script is by Betsy Morris and Nina Weinman, with the story from Morris. Hallmark fans know Betsy from the recent Two For Tee, and Nina, she is known for We Met In December.
Ronni (Gubelmann) is a beloved school nurse and devoted mom, who hosts a longstanding mahjong game with her dear friends, Shelley (Lowe), Carly (Mowry-Housley) and Melissa (Peterman). When Ronni becomes an empty nester, her whole world tilts – her daughter leaves for college, her hours are cut, and her ex insists it’s time to sell the home she’s poured her heart into.
But a chance moment at a school fundraiser reveals her unexpected gift for teaching mahjong – and sparks a connection with Ben (Campbell), a charming contractor whose family needs a little healing of its own.
As Ronni brings community after community together through the game she loves, she discovers that sometimes the hand you are dealt changes everything. With her future in the balance, Ronni must learn to bet on herself… and maybe on love, too.
The premiere of All’s Fair In Love & Mahjong is on Saturday, May 9, at 8 p.m. Eastern, and streaming on Plus the next day.
