On Tuesday, Hallmark Media announced a star-studded new movie All’s Fair In Love & Mahjong. This is part of the May For Moms collection which starts next month!
This movie stars Fiona Gubelmann (The Good Doctor, A Royal Montana Christmas), Paul Campbell (The Cases Of Mystery Lane, Three Wise Men), and a trio of co-stars that promises loads of laughs and fun! That includes Melissa Peterman (Haul Out The Holly, Finding Mr. Christmas), Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe (Signed, Sealed, Delivered), and Tamera Mowry-Housley (Haunted Harmony Mysteries, Dream Moms).
Jessica Harmon is the director. Hallmark fans know her from the Aurora Teagarden prequel mysteries, Tipline Mysteries, as well as the upcoming I’ll Be Seeing You.
The script is by Betsy Morris and Nina Weinman, with the story from Morris. Hallmark fans know Betsy from the recent Two For Tee, The Wish Swap, and Villa Amore. As for Nina, she is known for We Met In December, Catch Me If You Claus, and Just One Kiss. Stay tuned for another May announcement for the prolific Nina Weinman! What Is All’s Fair In Love & Mahjong About?
According to The Futon Critic, Hallmark Media has announced All’s Fair In Love & Mahjong. This includes a stellar cast including Fiona Gubelmann, Paul Campbell, Melissa Peterman, Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe, and Tamera Mowry-Housley. This is a story of an empty-nester who loves mahjong!
Ronni (Gubelmann) is a beloved school nurse and devoted mom, who hosts a longstanding mahjong game with her dear friends, Shelley (Lowe), Carly (Mowry-Housley) and Melissa (Peterman). When Ronni becomes an empty nester, her whole world tilts – her daughter leaves for college, her hours are cut, and her ex insists it’s time to sell the home she’s poured her heart into.
But a chance moment at a school fundraiser reveals her unexpected gift for teaching mahjong – and sparks a connection with Ben (Campbell), a charming contractor whose family needs a little healing of its own.
As Ronni brings community after community together through the game she loves, she discovers that sometimes the hand you are dealt changes everything. With her future in the balance, Ronni must learn to bet on herself… and maybe on love, too.
The premiere is on Saturday, May 9, at 8 p.m. Eastern, on the Hallmark Channel. This May For Moms romcom will be available to stream the next day.
