Sleuthers, Hallmark’s mystery fans, have waited a long time for the network to return to regularly airing cozy mysteries. Already, the network has scheduled its first mystery premiere of the year, Nelly Knows: All Manners Of Murder. This stars Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith and premieres on Saturday, March 14, at 8 p.m. Eastern, on the Hallmark Channel.
But what about other mysteries? Did Hallmark cancel all of their series? Here is the latest information. This information is based on interviews, social media, and announcements.
Which Is Happening With Hallmark Mysteries?
Sleuthers, Hallmark’s mystery fans, have waited a long time for the network to return to regularly airing cozy mysteries. In 2024, the rebranded Hallmark Movies and Mysteries to Hallmark Mystery. This seemed like the network that canceled Mystery 101 on a cliffhanger was ready to make a commitment to this genre.
In addition, the previous EVP of Programming, Lisa Hamilton Daly, told the Hallmark Mysteries & More podcast that she aimed to make three movies in every mystery series, as research showed this was the magic number of movies needed to launch a successful mystery franchise.
However, at the beginning of 2025, Daly was out, as was the position of EVP of Programming. Moreover, the network, which went heavy on new mysteries on the newly rebranded Hallmark Plus streaming channel, just re-aired a couple of Aurora Teagarden prequels and Jane Mystery movies, along with a trio of Mystery Island, a couple of Hannah Swensen Mysteries, a hysterical Mystery Lane, and a Haunted Harmony.
Also, the network premiered Mistletoe Murders Season 2, after the linear premiere of Season 1. This Sarah Drew-led mystery was the cozy mystery highlight of both 2024 and 2025.
This was a sad comparison to the nearly 20 new mysteries that aired in 2024. Furthermore, in June 2025, mysteries began to premiere on the OG, not the newly branded Mystery Channel.
Then, the news that the planned two Curious Caterer movies were delayed, and Paul Campbell confirmed that Mystery Lane was canceled. It is not surprising that Sleuthers thought the feel-good network canceled all mysteries.
That is not true. However, it seems the network is still working on a plan for their mysteries.
Thankfully, Sleuthers still have some mysteries to look forward to in 2026. Here is what we know now.
Which Hallmark Mysteries Are Already Made?
There is a cornucopia of Hallmark mysteries that are already made. Let’s start with Haunted Harmony Mysteries starring Tamera Mowry-Housley, Risteárd Cooper, and Marco Grazzini.
In early January 2025, Linda-Lisa Hayter shared on social media that she was headed on a trip. Her champagne glass had a shamrock on it, hinting she was enroute to Ireland. It soon became clear they were filming a new Haunted Harmony Mystery: Buried At C.
However, due to her late March post showing all of the crew involved, it became clear that this was not just one movie. This 10-week shoot could mean up to three movies. However, right now we are only counting one extra movie that has not yet aired. This is Death In D Minor.
It seems likely that LL was in Ireland extra early to scope out locations, thus the longer stay on the Emerald Isle.
Later, in September 2025, Ali Liebert directed Haunted Harmony Mysteries: Execution In E. That means Hallmark has two movies that could potentially air in 2026.
However, Hallmark Media did not make any sort of announcement on these two additional unaired mysteries.
The Warriors Are Back With Two ‘True Justice’
In February, Deadline reported that Hallmark was making two new movies in the True Justice series. This series is about a group of law students who want to right the wrongfully accused. The working titles of the two movies are Eye For An Eye, and Lost Love. Katherine McNamara returns as Casey Barlowe, Markian Tarasiuk as Eli Flint, Nikki DeLoach as Professor Ambrose, and Benjamin Ayres as D.A. Quinn.
Nikki DeLoach and Megan McNulty created the series and wrote the scripts. Lisa Soper is the director. Her most recent directorial work are two episodes of Ripple, which is currently streaming on Netflix.
In True Justice: Eye For An Eye, “Our Warriors work to exonerate a mother wrongly accused of murder. To reopen the case and solve the potential crime, our Justice Warriors need to go undercover and investigate the wealthy parents at a prestigious high school.”
Next, in True Justice: Lost Love, “Our Warriors work to not only exonerate Marianne for the murder of her missing fiancé but to bring to light a web of counterfeit jewels along the way.”
Currently, Hallmark Media has not announced a premiere date for either of these movies. Hopefully, this will be soon.
Be sure to watch the first movie in the series, True Justice: Family Ties, on Hallmark+.
Hallmark Is Returning With More ‘Hannah Swensen’
It looks like there will be more than one Hannah Swensen Mystery in 2026. This series stars Alison Sweeney, Barbara Niven, and Victor Webster. Just a few months ago, they filmed Murder At The Masquerade. Directed by Peter Benson, this movie was confirmed by Barbara Niven and Victor Webster at the Hallmark Experience in Kansas City. While there is no synopsis, we can safely assume there will be a grand masquerade party in Lake Eden!
Furthermore, Creative BC has listed another movie, Kitchen Expert: A Hannah Swensen Mystery. Production for this movie is between February 6 to February 27. Moreover, Peter Benson is directing again. Currently, no premiere dates have been announced for either movie.
All 12 Murder She Baked/Hannah Swensen Mysteries are available to stream on Hallmark+.
Still No Word On ‘Mistletoe Murders’ Season 3
A lot of Sleuthers and Christmas movie fans want Hallmark to renew Mistletoe Murders for Season 3. This series stars Sarah Drew, Peter Mooney, and Sierra Marilyn Riley. Based on the Audible series, this series is about Emily Lane. By day, she owns a 365-day-a-year Christmas store in the bucolic town of Fletchers Grove.
However, Emily has a secret past that could jeopardize her safety and her romance with dishy Detective Sam Wilner. Created by Ken Cuperus, this series has become an instant sensation. Unfortunately, there is still no word on a new season.
Hopefully, Hallmark will make an announcement soon. Meanwhile, Sleuthers can stream the first two seasons on Hallmark+.
Waiting For 2026 Updates On ‘Curious Caterer’
Lastly, Curious Caterer fans are waiting for new movies. Last year, they had originally planned to make two new movies. However, that was postponed. But there is a promising update.
According to Liv Lane at Entertainment Now, they should be filming new movies this year. Back in July, Andrew Walker shared, “We will be doing more Curious Caterers. I can definitively say we will be doing more. I’ve been told by trusted sources. It’ll be next year, though.”
That means sometime this year, assuming the recently returned EVP of Programming, Michelle Vicary, is on board.
Two Hallmark Mystery Series Not Returning
It should be noted that there are two confirmed cancellations: Cases Of Mystery Lane, and Dancing Detective.
