Just as BritBox subscribers are finally getting new episodes of Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators with the release of the first Season 5 episodes, there is news on Season 6. However, not all the news is good. One of the leads of this fan-favorite mystery series will not be back this season.

‘Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators’ Returning For Season 6
After fans had to wait several years of waiting for Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators Season 5, they are already filming Season 6! According to Radio Times, the sixth series is already in production. Moreover, that means it should premiere sometime in 2026!
However, there is one caveat. Although Mark Benton and Jo Joyner are returning as Frank Hathaway and Luella Shakespeare, Patrick Walsh McBride will not be reprising his role as Sebastian Brudenell.
In the series, Sebastian is chasing after his dream role in Hollywood. Therefore, he gets a pal from RADA to take his place at the office. Therefore, Bea Gardiner will be joining the team. This role is portrayed by Aruhan Galieva, described as “a fresh face and dynamic new addition to the team, stepping into the role of assistant.”
Jo Joyner And Mark Benton Thrilled To Return
Needless to say, stars Jo Joyner and Mark Benton are thrilled to already be filming Season 6 of this popular detective mystery series. Jo Joyner shared a statement about the return of Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators Season 6.
I’m absolutely delighted to be back with Mark in beautiful Warwickshire filming the sixth series. I’m looking forward to Lu muddling her way through more mysteries–playing Luella is like slipping into a comfy pair of very bright, fully pink slippers!
As for Mark Benton, he was clearly “thrilled” to learn that the series would have such a quick turnaround.
