What Hallmark’s ‘Mistletoe Murders’ Season 2, E1-2 ‘Cold War’ Is About
Hallmark’s hit Mistletoe Murders Season 2 is premiering on Friday, November 7 at 8 p.m. Eastern, on the OG channel, and available to stream on Hallmark+ the next day as part of Countdown To Christmas 2025. They are kicking off the series that stars Sarah Drew, Peter Mooney, and Sierra Marilyn Riley with back-to-back episodes one hour episodes entitled “Cold War.”
There is a time jump. This new season takes place a year after the events of the Season 1 finale episode, “Death Of A Humbug,” that featured the fabulous Tom Cavanagh. Just as things get cozier between Sam and Emily, he discovers enough about her to question who she is. Furthermore, her inability to share her past causes an estrangement between the leads.
Here is the Hallmark synopsis for “Cold War” Part 1: “After a year of avoidance, Emily and Sam reunite to solve the disappearance of the school chess coach, triggering echoes of Emily’s past. Violet hopes to attend the Winter dance with her crush.”
For “Cold War” Part 2: “Emily goes undercover at the school to solve the chess coach’s murder. Tensions arise when Sam suspects Violet’s date, and the winter dance turns into a game of cat and mouse with the killer.”
Looks like Emily and Sam may be forced to work together again!

Earlier in the year, when Sarah Drew was interviewed about Mistletoe Murders, she hinted that she would be bringing her pals in for Season 2. Already that is happening! Hallmark Hunk Benjamin Ayres is a guest star this season opener.
Already, there is a Season 2 social media post promotion that includes a photo of Benjamin and Sarah together! However, there is no information on his role in this two-part episode entitled “Cold War.” Yet, there is a photo that shows the two playing chess.
Sleuthers, what do you think Benjamin Ayres’ role is in the upcoming premiere of Mistletoe Murders Season 2 entitled “Cold War”?
