Everyone is talking about the new Hallmark Winter Escape adventure romcom Caught By Love. This new romantic mystery stars Rachael Leigh Cook and Luke Mcfarlane, and is set in gorgeous Malta. The mystery is fun, the setting is romantic, and the leads were incredible!
This movie has three things I personally love: Mystery, romance, and a character that grows.
This movie is about Annie, who is seeking self-discovery by going on a resort vacation. However, her intended respite turns into an adventure and even romance when she accidentally becomes part of an international jewel heist and meets private investigator Jake. Turns out, Annie learns more about herself than she ever imagined.
Everyone is buzzing on social media about this movie. Could the network make more? If it were up to one of the stars, that answer would be a yes!
Rachael Leigh Cook Wants ‘Caught By Love’ Sequel
Now that Hallmark has premiered Caught By Love starring Rachael Leigh Cook and Luke Macfarlane, viewers want to know if there will be more. The She’s All That star recently spoke to Avery Thompson at Swooon. This is what she had to say.
Firstly, Rachael spoke about her character Annie, who starts out believing she is courageous. Cook explains, “I think she’s looking for her own voice. I think she’s looking for something to give her a sense of empowerment that she doesn’t realize she has to get from herself.”
As for Jake, the actress shared that he’s a “little bit jaded.” Working as a PI seems to have made him a “little bit jaded.” But, when he meets Annie, she “shows herself that she has the ability and worth and smarts that can help.” Furthermore, she reminds Jake why he loves his work.
As in many mystery movies, this adventure romcom is a “nice slow burn.” That offers opportunities for more movies and more character growth. Rachael Leigh Cook is on board for a sequel, chiming, “There’s definitely room for their adventures to continue.”
Lastly, this actress, who has worked with such Hollywood heartthrobs as Freddie Prinze Jr., Damon Wayans Jr., Chad Michael Murray, and Hallmark Hunks Benjamin Ayres, Niall Matter, Sam Page, and Brendan Penny, had something special to say about the “Incredible” Luke Macfarlane. She shared that he had a “throwback movie star” vibe.
Be sure to watch Caught By Love on Hallmark+.
